HAPPtY FATHERS DAY

Sunday 4th September Time to get started. The sun is shining and it happens to be Father's Day. We had our usual breakfast of bacon, eggs, fried tomato and toast. I got spoilt with lots of presents. A new pair of overalls, socks, chocolates and the third DVD in the trilogy about the girl who kicked the hornets nest. My daughter gave me one of her beautiful cards. She is such a caring person like her mother.Emma has clarinet lessons on Sunday mornings so I drove to Ashfield and waited in the car. Kim went to see my mother who has been ill in Hornsby Hospital. Hopefully she will be able to return to Bowden Brae tomorrow. It is very distressing watching your mother deteriorate the way she has. Her neck is getting worse so much so that she is bent over double and eating and drinking are becoming very difficult. I will be glad when she is back in her own surroundings. The staff at Hornsby Hospital are just wonderful. Why isn't the government doing something about building a new hospital. All those years of neglect under Labour have left the old hospital in tatters. There is only one solution dynamite the place and rebuild.
Having a slight problem with my ticker today so took my amiodorone a bit earlier and an extra 5mg of Prednisolone. This generally settles things down. I probably overdid it yesterday as I drove home from our property at Berry and then went to visit my mother.
In the afternoon I did some chores around the house, updated this Blog and cooked dinner. We love our food in this house! Dinner consisted of Turkey thigh with roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese and assorted vegetables.I always slow cook the turkey so that it literally falls off the bone. Kim's mum joined us for dinner after a nice day on the golf course. It is wonderful that she still plays. At 82 she is struggling but I hope she will be able to hit that little white ball for a little longer. Did some paperwork for Emma's trip to Peru at the end of the month. All in all a great day and hoping that all dads had the same.

HOW TO PAINT WATERCOLOURS LESSON 1 TRANSPARENCY

I've been painting and selling watercolours now for over thirty years in which time I've sold over 4000 paintings. Painting watercolours is such a rewarding experience that I felt it was time I passed on some of the knowledge I have accumulated over that time. Some of my methods will seem a bit outrageous but I assure you they will improve your paintings and give you a lot of satisfaction. So sit back, relax and enjoy the first video which deals with the subject of transparency. Life will never be quite the same again.
